Dante, Devil May Cry 3. One of my favorite characters. I wanted to take an existing character and put my spin on him. I have friend that is a comic book artist and his versions of such characters as superman, batman, etc. that he does for himself is much different than the traditional styles.
I know I don't have the background consistent with the game, I fudged a little and added the mirrors from DMC4 you could smash.
The colors I tried to adjust as well as I could..they still look more orangish here than on canvas but I tried. And again, this is a 28x36 inch canvas so I had to photograph it. My photography skills are not good so it is a little blurry..( I do NOT agree with people who tell me photography isn't an art..).
Ummm..I am proud of his stomach and I spent a lot of time layering and layering thin coats of oils to try to get it to gleam... I am not where I want to be yet but I see each painting as a learning and growing experience!
Oh, I know Lady was his counterpart in this game...but I prefer Trish..I was thinking about doing another painting to hang alongside this one of Trish..but I guess it should be Lady...with the same background and such..
Dante and Devil May Cry rights belongs to Capcom and is not my character. This is created as fan art and is not intended to be copied or sold.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
