I got it yesterday and finished it today. My opinion? A resounding Meh and don't get me wrong, I am a King fan and I read as much of his works that I can get my hands on. I just never cared for the character's in this novel.... and he can make you connect with characters. The character I felt most for in this novel was just a small, side character.

I don't know. It just didn't grab me. I read it like it was a chore. The character's did not seem real, over stylized and the story happened too quickly.

It made me sad really...I look forward to his new novels.

That being said if I lowered your expectations just now you will probably love it. Maybe that was the problem. The sheer size of it suggested a novel on the par with The Stand. I expected too much.

Not on my reread list...( and there is only one other King novel I will never reread and that is for a totally different reason...too painful..).

Wants and thoughts

Things I want:

To be buried in a coffin that looks like a Reeses wrapper and be embalmed in chocolate and peanut butter.

I want Reeses to make the inside out reeses again.

I want a purple horse.

I want white hair.

I want Mayonaisse, not Miracle Whip!

Now for something serious....

Thoughts: I don't get my panties in a wad over what is the best art ( anime, traditional, digital, photography, etc.) but I do over artist's bad attitudes.

I don't like artists that try to one up others in art and actions where everything is a competition. That kills the spirit of creativity. You might as well be playing a sport. I DO like artists that are cool, have a sense of community, that like to share techiniques. That nurtures creativity and plus...they are MUCH more pleasant to talk to and be around. I think they are happier.

DA'ers....Strive to be part of the community and help raise each other up, not put each other down. Heh, I guess this is my hippy mentality.
